Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Milan Romanczyk, the publisher of Koishii, based in France. By using Koishii you accept them. Contact: hello@koishii.app.

Using Koishii

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• Koishii connects exactly two people. Only pair with someone you know and trust.
• Keep your device secure: anyone who can open Koishii on your phone can act as you.

Your content

• Photos, notes, names and answers you add stay yours.
• You give us the limited permission we need to store them, process them and show them to your partner, only to run Koishii. That permission ends when the content is deleted.
• You must have the right to share what you send, including the consent of anyone who appears in a photo.

What's not allowed

Don't use Koishii to send or do anything that:

• is illegal, or promotes illegal activity;
• sexualises minors in any way;
• shares intimate images of someone without their consent;
• harasses, threatens, bullies or intimidates your partner or anyone else;
• infringes someone else's rights, including copyright and privacy;
• tries to break, overload or get around the security of the app.

Reporting and ending a pairing

You can report any photo you receive (open it → ⋯ → Report…). It disappears from your gallery right away and we review every report. You can also archive a photo, remove it from your memories, or delete a photo you sent for both of you. You can end a pairing at any time (My bear → End pairing): it's paused, neither of you can see the other's content any more, and pairing again with the same person restores everything. We may remove content, or suspend or delete accounts, that break these terms, and we may report illegal content to the authorities.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from My bear → Delete account. This permanently deletes your data as described in our Privacy Policy, and ends your pairing.

Free trial, Koishii Plus and purchases

• Free trial. Every couple gets a 7-day free trial, starting when the two of you pair. No payment details are needed for it. During the trial each of you can leave up to 5 photos.
• Koishii Plus. After the trial, caring for the bears, sharing photos, daily questions, challenges, reactions and games require a Koishii Plus subscription. Your bears and memories stay viewable without one. Photos are kept for 30 days after your trial or subscription ends, with a countdown in the app, then deleted unless you subscribe again.
• One subscription per couple. When either partner subscribes, both get Koishii Plus for as long as that subscription is active. It belongs to the partner who bought it: if they cancel, or if the pairing ends, the other partner loses access too.
• Billing and renewal. Subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store at the price shown before you confirm (monthly or yearly). Payment is charged to your Apple ID. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies.
• Partner codes. A creator's partner code gives your couple 5% off your first Koishii Plus subscription and exclusive looks for your bears. It must be entered before your first subscription; one code per couple; codes can't be exchanged for money. Creators receive a commission on subscriptions made with their code.
• Streak shields. Streak shields are one-time purchases shared by the couple. A shield is used automatically to cover a day the streak would otherwise break, and can't be refunded once used.
• Price changes. If a price changes, Apple will tell you in advance, and you can cancel before it applies.

Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Koishii running and your data safe, but the app is provided as it is, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect losses or for content shared between users. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law that applies to you.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using Koishii afterwards, the new terms apply.

Law

These terms are governed by French law. If there's a dispute, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If we can't, you may use a consumer mediation service or the competent courts, as provided by law.
